The distance between screen and speakers is dictated by the type of AT screen material you use. The manufacturer is the best source of info for this, but generally you want perf'd screens to be 8-12" in front of the speakers, micro-perf'd screens 6-8" in front and woven materials 1-4" in front.
As a rule, a 42” television should be mounted about 56 inches from floor to TV center and a 70” television should be mounted about 67 inches to the center of the screen. But this preference could vary from person to person. An important factor, the viewing angle of the TV from your sofa or chair, determines how high to hang your TV.
If you have a 60-inch TV, mount it between 61 and 65 inches from the floor to the TV’s center. You can do some math to determine the perfect height for your TV. You’ll need a graphic calculator to do this. Take the “Tan” of your reclining angle, which is 10-20 degrees when laying back. Multiply this by the viewing distance from the TV.
